Our Comox Valley Wilderness Enrichment Walks go beyond a typical dog walk. Designed as a special add-on to your dog’s daycare day, these small-group forest walks elevate their experience with purposeful movement, exploration and sensory enrichment. These guided outings start with small group connecition and engagment before leaving our property, ensureing set the tone for our walk in a calm manner and give dogs the opportunity to step out into nature and experience the forest in a way that supports both their physical and mental wellbeing.
Through calm, structured movement, dogs are encouraged to slow down, sniff, observe and fully engage with their surroundings. The sights, scents, textures and sounds of the forest naturally spark curiosity and fulfill important sensory and enrichment needs, while building confidence and connection within the group.
Our small-group dog wilderness walks focus on balance, engagement and thoughtful pacing. Dogs practice recall and are encouraged and rewarded for natural check-ins, cooperative movement and positive social interactions while enjoying the freedom of the outdoors.
Mental enrichment and sensory stimulation
Healthy physical exercise
Off-leash manners and recall check-ins
Confidence in natural environments
Off-leash dogs must have reliable recall. A long-line or leash option is available for dogs who benefit from additional support with recall while still enjoying the experience or for clients who wish for their dogs to join us but prefer them to be on leash.
Our Wilderness Walks are intentionally limited to a small number of participants each day to maintain safety, group harmony and quality enrichment time. All dogs on our walks will wear daycare provided trackers.
More than just exercise, this is a guided forest enrichment experience designed to elevate your dog’s daycare day with connection and meaningful time in nature.
*Wilderness Walks are open for booking under "hiking" in PetPocketbook for daycare clients only
